Police in occupied Kashmir arrest dozens for participating in funeral prayers of slain fighter

Police in occupied Kashmir has arrested dozens of youth during nocturnal raids in the Zainageer area of Sopore in Baramulla district for participating in the funeral prayers of a Kashmiri fighter martyred in a gunfight with the Indian military.

Quoting a senior police officer, a local news gathering agency reported that the police has arrested dozens of people who were identified through visuals captured using drones. The report said that more arrests will be made in coming days.

People in Kashmir have been participating in the funerals of slain fighters en masse unnerving the occupying authorities in the region.

Although, in the past, the occupying authorities have tried various means to restrict the participation of the people in the funeral prayers but have failed.

Meanwhile, the report said that an FIR vide number 70/2020 under section 188 has been registered against the arrested youth.
