BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Friday that on the Palestinian issue, China’s position matches that of Arab countries.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, added that China will continue to work in solidarity and cooperate with Arab countries and stand together on the side of historical correctness, fairness and justice, and international humanitarianism.
He made the remarks when meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, who visited Beijing to attend the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum.
The two sides also exchanged views on the crisis in Ukraine and agreed that the organization of a peace conference in Ukraine should be guided by the basic principles of acceptance by the parties concerned, equal participation by all parties and fair discussion of various options.
Wang said China will continue to promote peace and talks, and play a constructive role in promoting a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
