ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sent the Champions Trophy from Dubai to Islamabad as Pakistan gears up to host the tournament from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
Kicking off on November 16, the trophy tour will begin in Pakistan’s scenic Skardu Valley, covering key cities set to host the Champions Trophy matches. The highlight of the tour will be the trophy’s symbolic stop at the K2 Base Camp before wrapping up on November 24.
However, this year’s tour has drawn attention for starting without an official tournament schedule, marking a first for the ICC. Typically, tournament schedules are announced months in advance, as seen with the recent Men’s T20 and ODI World Cups.
The Champions Trophy schedule, initially set to be unveiled on November 11 in Lahore, has faced delays due to India’s hesitation to play in Pakistan. As a result, the ICC has yet to finalise and announce the match timeline, leaving fans in anticipation.
