RAWALPINDI: Father of the three children, whodiedafter taking poisonous milk on Tuesday, has lodged an FIR against his wife accusing her of murdering his children.
The woman has been under observation at the Holy Family Hospital (HFH), and now she is in protective custody of police after her husband filed a murder case against her.
A spokesman for the police said: “If a police investigation revealed proof of a murder, the accused will be brought to justice.”
Salam Masih, 26, father of the ill-fated children lodged an FIR with the Banni police saying that he was married to Ms Zunaira six years ago and had three children from her.
He said on Sunday she and children went to her aunt’s house which he did not like and both had a brawl over this issue on Monday during which she threatened that she would ‘do something wrong’ with the children.
He further said that on June 24, he went to his job at 7a.m. and at about 2.30pm he received a phone call from his neighbours that his children were lying unconscious and they are being shifted to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH).
He said on receiving the phone call, he and his brothers rushed to the hospital and found his three children lying dead and his wife unconscious. He said he suspected that his wife had killed his children allegedly by giving them poison.
According to initial postmortem examination, no traces of torture on the bodies of the children were found. However, their mother was under observation in the hospital as she has not regained her consciousness.
When the police lady constable examined Ms Zunaira’s body, she discovered cuts and bruises on both hands, the police said in the FIR.
“Cuts and bruises were found on both hands of Ms Zunaira when the lady police constable examined her on the hospital bed,” the police said in the FIR.
A mother of three was shifted to the emergency room of the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) along with her three children in critical condition on Tuesday. Since the incident happened, the police have launched an investigation to ascertain the real circumstances in which the tragic incident happened.
She in her initial statement had said that Tuesday she gave the milk to her children and she also took a cup. But later their condition started deteriorating and subsequently they were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital HFH) by their neighbors.
The deceased were four-year-old Minsha, two-and-a-half-year old Novail and eight-month-old baby Marisha. Bodies of children were handed over to their father after the postmortem.
