ISLAMABAD/ANKARA: Senior leader of Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Chairman of the Türkiye–Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ali Şahin, has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan on the country’s 79th Independence Day through a special video message delivered in Urdu, highlighting the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
In his message, Ali Şahin said that August 14 is an important, joyous and blessed day for both Pakistan and Türkiye. He noted that while August 14 marks Pakistan’s Independence Day, it also coincides with the anniversary of the founding of Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), making the date a particularly significant occasion for the Turkish nation as well.
Highlighting the relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, Ali Şahin stressed that the ties between the two countries go far beyond conventional diplomatic relations, encompassing deep historical, cultural, religious and emotional bonds between their peoples.
His message reflects the unique character of the relationship between the two brotherly nations, often expressed through the affectionate phrases “Two States, One Nation” and “Two Hearts, One Soul.”
The bond of friendship and mutual affection between the peoples of Pakistan and Türkiye has deep historical roots extending over more than a century. The leaderships of both countries have also repeatedly described each other as brotherly nations, reinforcing the exceptional warmth and solidarity that characterize bilateral relations.
Ali Şahin has consistently expressed his strong commitment to strengthening Türkiye–Pakistan relations. Having studied in Pakistan himself, he has on numerous occasions described the relationship between the two countries as a deep and distinctive bond extending beyond traditional diplomatic ties.

This year’s Urdu-language video message once again highlights the enduring brotherhood, mutual affection and close people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, with the message “Two Countries, One Nation” at its heart.
