Chinese medics share Wuhan experience with Pakistani counterparts to help defeat Coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing Sunday expressed optimism that Pakistan would soon defeat Coronavirus pandemic and China would keep supporting the fight against the outbreak as Pakistan is number-one priority for China as both the countries are all-weather friends.

Chinese Experts share their experiences with their Pakistani counterparts at NIH

 

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador expressed these views during his visit to the National Institute of Health (NIH) with a team of Chinese health experts who landed here on Saturday. The Chinese doctors’ team has arrived to share their experiences in managing and controlling the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that has wreaked havoc across the globe.

Ambassador Yao Jing said that China would continue its support for Pakistan and hoped that the pandemic would soon be controlled here. The technical team of NIH including epidemiologists, doctors, and emergency management team arranged a briefing for the Chinese experts and shared their experience in managing and responding to the COVID-19 outbreak in Pakistan.

China sends more medical supplies to help Pakistan fight Coronavirus

The Chinese Ambassador said that Pakistan is iron-brother for China and it was a state priority for China to help Pakistan get out of this crisis situation.

Yao Jing said that situation in Wuhan is improving fast with life returning to normalcy and China is also trying to replicate the same experience in Pakistan.

The Chinese Doctors visited different divisions of NIH and discussed various techniques that they utilized to combat the spread of the COVID-19 in China. The Chinese delegate appreciated the response of NIH to the disease so far.

The Chinese team comprising epidemiologist, ICU specialist, IPC specialist, medical specialist, and outbreak control specialist.

The Executive Director of NIH Major General Aamer Ikram welcomed the delegate and briefed them about the situation of COVID-19 in Pakistan and major response activities at present.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza thanked the Chinese delegate for helping Pakistan by their experiences. He said that China paid it wonderful response in their homeland and assisting International states how to manage the outbreak.

On this occasion, Major General Aamer Ikram said that all departments and divisions of the National Institute of Health Islamabad under the leadership of Dr. Zafar Mirza are coordinating the national response activities for COVID-19.

Chinese medical supplies are sent from Wuhan City

The NIH Executive Director acknowledged the fight of the Chinese nation against COVID-19. He said that it is a great opportunity to learn from Chinese successful experience against COVID-19. He also said that once again China has shown to the world that they are friends of Pakistan and they are available to collaborate and coordinate for every situation in difficult times.

Pakistan’s count of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases soared to 1526 on Sunday, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Center. Thus far 14 deaths from the disease have been reported in the country, while 28 patients have made full recoveries after contracting coronavirus.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani Airforce plane carrying relief goods including ventilators, disposable coverall, N95 face masks and medical masks from Chinese city of Wuhan landed Pakistan with six tons of medical equipment.
