RAWALPINDI<\/strong>: The Pakistan Navy conducted a successful test of the indigenously developed \u2018Taimoor\u2019 air-launched cruise missile, the military\u2019s media wing said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the \u201cPakistan Navy has conducted successful live weapon firing of Taimoor air-launched cruise missile \u2014 an indigenously developed Anti-Ship Weapon System \u2014 in a powerful demonstration of precision strike capability and operational readiness\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISPR said that the cruise missile \u201cexecuted its mission with exceptional precision, validating Pakistan Navy\u2019s combat capability to detect, target and decisively neutralise enemy sea-based threats at extended ranges\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement added that the test marked \u201ca pivotal elevation of national defence capability\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It further said that the test had \u201cstrengthened Pakistan armed forces\u2019 multi-dimensional coordinated strike posture and capabilities in the conventional domain\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPakistan Navy stands resolute in its commitment to safeguard the nation\u2019s maritime interests and sovereign waters,\u201d ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe president, prime minister of Pakistan, chief of defence forces and services chiefs have congratulated the scientists and engineers on achieving this significant milestone,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the successful test, stating that it was a \u201cmilestone\u201d in Pakistan\u2019s defence capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per a statement by the Ministry of Interior, Naqvi congratulated the nation on the successful test, affirming that Pakistan Navy remained \u201ccommitted to protecting the nation\u2019s maritime borders\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 16, the navy successfully fired a locally developed anti-ship ballistic missile to engage targets at an extended range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, the navy conducted a \u201ccomprehensive exercise\u201d in the north Arabian Sea, where it successfully fired a surface-to-air missile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
