{"id":634,"date":"2026-04-20T15:53:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T15:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=634"},"modified":"2026-04-20T15:53:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T15:53:12","slug":"pakistan-egypt-conclude-two-week-counterterrorism-exercise-ispr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/04\/20\/pakistan-egypt-conclude-two-week-counterterrorism-exercise-ispr\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, Egypt conclude two-week counterterrorism exercise: ISPR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RAWALPINDI<\/strong>: Pakistan and Egypt concluded a two-week-long military exercise focused on counter-terrorism, the military\u2019s media wing said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a press release, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the \u201cPakistan-Egypt Joint Exercise Thunder-II\u201d concluded in Cherat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa \u2014 the military\u2019s premier Special Operations School (SOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c[The] two-week-long exercise was designed to enhance interoperability by refining drills, procedures, and techniques related to counterterrorism operations through joint training,\u201d ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It added that \u201ccombat teams from the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and the Egyptian Special Forces actively participated\u201d in the exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military\u2019s media wing further said that the participants exhibited \u201cexceptional professionalism and operational skill throughout the exercise\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The picture shows Pakistan-Egypt Joint Exercise Thunder-II underway. \u2014 ISPR<br>General officer commanding SSG and Commander of Egyptian Paratroopers, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razik, along with the defence attach\u00e9 of Egypt, attended the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe exercise also served to further strengthen the longstanding and historic military-to-military relations between the two friendly nations,\u201d ISPR added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pakistan and Egypt share long-standing bilateral relations.
