ISLAMABAD<\/strong>: The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf on Tuesday said that Pakistan\u2019s armed forces stood ready to \u201cdeter any aggression\u201d vowing to deliver a \u201cbefitting response\u201d to any such act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He made the assertion while addressing the passing out ceremony of cadets of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Risalpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The naval chief, in his address congratulated the graduating cadets, expressing hope that they will \u201cuphold PAF\u2019s vision\u201d with \u201ccommitment and dedication\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, he recalled the four-day conflict with India in May 2025 \u2014Marka-i-Haq \u2014 and stressed that Pakistan stood \u201cever ready, vigilant, and capable to deter any aggression and give a befitting response\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pakistan Army had named the period of conflict with India, from the Pahalgam attack to the conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, as Marka-i-Haq in May, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further stated that the armed forces, including the navy, stood ready to \u201cenhance our capabilities and keep up with the evolving geopolitical developments\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPakistan\u2019s outstanding performance in Marka-i-Haq, Bunyanum Marsoos, was the outcome of exemplary professionalism, remarkable foresight, and relentless hard work on the part of the Pakistan Air Force leadership,\u201d the naval chief said. He added in the years preceding the conflict, the air force pursued a \u201ccomprehensive strategy of organisation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPAF has embraced technological developments and harnessed cutting-edge technologies,\u201d he told the cadets, stressing that the PAF\u2019s previous successes placed \u201cgreater responsibility\u201d on the cadets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The naval chief said that the Pakistan Navy was also \u201cmaking significant headway\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detailing the advancement efforts, the navy chief said that Pakistan Navy was modernising its fleet and \u201cindigenously developing long-range weapons\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the navy\u2019s combat capabilities had \u201cundergone a remarkable enhancement across all operational domains, including surface, subsurface, and aviation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admiral Ashraf recalled that the navy, during the May 2025 conflict, \u201csuccessfully deterred the Indian navy from any hostilities at sea and it remained at bay throughout the conflict\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The naval chief maintained that it was the Pakistan Navy\u2019s capacity to \u201cstrike vital Indian infrastructure along the coast and its essential sea lines of communication with precision and speed\u201d that played a vital role in forcing the Indian navy to withdraw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted the global impact due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Israel war on Iran, which broke out on February 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, he expressed the navy\u2019s readiness to exercise \u201ccontinuous vigilance\u201d and enhance its ability to \u201cproactively respond in ant eventuality\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe stand ready to deter any aggression, enhance our capabilities and keep up with the evolving geopolitical developments,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also appreciated Pakistan\u2019s political and military leadership\u2019s \u201cuntiring, selfless and sincere\u201d role in brokering the US-Iran ceasefire and subsequent Islamabad Talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe trust and confidence in our armed forces and the Pakistani nation has grown exponentially,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He voiced optimism that with \u201cconcerted and collaborative efforts, we should be able to find a solution for achieving a safe secure and stable order in the region\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
