{"id":3448,"date":"2026-10-09T11:26:56","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=3448"},"modified":"2026-10-09T11:26:56","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:26:56","slug":"ministries-directed-to-provide-data-for-digital-nation-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/10\/09\/ministries-directed-to-provide-data-for-digital-nation-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministries directed to provide data for \u2018Digital Nation\u2019 initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD<\/strong>: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed all federal ministries to complete necessary measures within the stipulated time to provide relevant data to the Digital Nation Pakistan programme.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding over a meeting here, the prime minister said the central, national-level data centre being established under the Digital Nation Pakistan programme would play a key role in delivering government services and public facilities.<\/p>\n<p>He said assigning responsibilities to federal ministries and providing relevant data to the central data centre would bring the government system in line with modern requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Digital Nation Pakistan programme is essentially aimed at ensuring efficient and convenient services for citizens nationwide,\u201d he said. The sharing of data among institutions had played a key role in the successful implementation of the fuel subsidy scheme for deserving segments of society, he added.<\/p>\n<p>He said the digitisation of the ministry\u2019s performance and relevant data was also important in curbing corruption and institutional mismanagement.<\/p>\n<p>PM Shehbaz also welcomed the introduction of QR codes to ensure the supply of quality medicines across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was told that digitisation in key public-service sectors, particularly health and agriculture, was being completed on priority basis to facilitate the masses.<\/p>\n<p>The IT ministry, in coordination with the ministry of law, was also taking special measures to make relevant national laws available at a single platform to provide better guidance for future legislation, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Work on digitising priority sectors was continuing in line with the prime minister\u2019s directives, with special measures being taken to promote digital government services, a digital economy and digital public facilitation, the meeting was told.<\/p>\n<p>A detailed briefing was also given on the provision of health ministry data to the central data centre and the use of digitisation to verify the quality of medicines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday directed all federal ministries to complete necessary measures within the stipulated time to provide relevant data to the Digital Nation Pakistan programme.
