{"id":2981,"date":"2026-09-06T16:03:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T16:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=2981"},"modified":"2026-09-06T16:03:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T16:03:14","slug":"christians-ready-to-sacrifice-for-pakistan-says-rawalpindi-islamabad-archbishop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/09\/06\/christians-ready-to-sacrifice-for-pakistan-says-rawalpindi-islamabad-archbishop\/","title":{"rendered":"Christians ready to sacrifice for Pakistan, says Rawalpindi-Islamabad archbishop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RAWALPINDI<\/strong>: Archbishop of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Dr Joseph Arshad has reaffirmed that the Christian community stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan\u2019s armed forces and is ready to render every sacrifice for the defence, security and sovereignty of the motherland.<\/p>\n<p>In his message issued on the occasion of Defence Day on Saturday, Archbishop Dr Arshad said September 6 was a historic day in the national history when Pakistan\u2019s armed forces had courageously confronted a much larger enemy and foiled its designs through exemplary bravery and sacrifice.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Defence Day served as a reminder of the supreme sacrifices rendered by the brave martyrs and Ghazis who demonstrated unmatched courage for safeguarding the country\u2019s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe nation will always remember and honour the sacrifices of its martyrs with the greatest respect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Joseph Arshad said September 6 imparted an enduring message of national unity, solidarity, patriotism and a sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>He called upon the nation to renew its resolve to contribute to the country\u2019s development, prosperity, peace and stability and to play its role with dedication and sincerity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, the entire nation stands firmly alongside its brave armed forces for the protection of Pakistan\u2019s security and sovereignty,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The archbishop said the Christian community had historically played an important role in the defence of Pakistan and had rendered valuable services and sacrifices for the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistani Christians have always stood at the forefront whenever the defence of the homeland has been required.
