{"id":2701,"date":"2026-08-18T16:42:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=2701"},"modified":"2026-08-18T16:42:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:42:27","slug":"govt-to-implement-sc-order-on-imrans-hospital-transfer-tariq-fazal-tells-senate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/08\/18\/govt-to-implement-sc-order-on-imrans-hospital-transfer-tariq-fazal-tells-senate\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt to implement SC order on Imran&#8217;s hospital transfer, Tariq Fazal tells Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD<\/strong>: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry told the Senate on Tuesday that the government would implement the Supreme Court\u2019s (SC) order to move party founder Imran Khan to a private hospital in Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, the Supreme Court directed the government to shift the jailed former premier to\u00a0Shifa International Hospital\u00a0in Islamabad within the next two days.<\/p>\n<p>PTI lawmakers welcomed the court decision made earlier today, while seeking relief for other incarcerated leaders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prime minister has no authority to go against judicial decisions,\u201d Chaudhry remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the House, he said the SC\u2019s verdict had \u201cproved the independence of the judiciary in the country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe leadership of the PML-N also obtained relief from the courts,\u201d he added. \u201cWe strongly condemn insulting remarks against the judiciary and the hate campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PTI Senator Azam Swati said it was \u201cvery welcome\u201d that the PTI founder was being taken to Shifa International Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He also thanked the government, saying, \u201cWe should resolve matters together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Senator Faisal Javed called it a welcome decision and thanked the SC. \u201cNow implementation is the job of the administration,\u201d he said, adding that\u00a0other\u00a0imprisoned PTI leaders should also be given relief.<\/p>\n<p>Imran, his sister Dr Uzma, Mashal Azam and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja had\u00a0approached\u00a0the SC seeking directions for his transfer to Shifa International Hospital, access to his personal physicians, family members and counsel, and the provision of his medical details to his family.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the court ordered the concerned officer or government, in consultation and coordination with the management of Shifa International Hospital, to constitute a medical board comprising a physician, a general surgeon, an internal medicine specialist, an eye specialist and a cardiologist to examine and treat the prisoner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry told the Senate on Tuesday that the government would implement the Supreme Court\u2019s (SC) order to move party founder Imran Khan to a private hospital in Islamabad.
