{"id":2588,"date":"2026-08-13T16:56:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T16:56:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=2588"},"modified":"2026-08-13T16:56:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T16:56:27","slug":"investigators-seek-nccia-help-to-unlock-mir-razas-digital-footprint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/08\/13\/investigators-seek-nccia-help-to-unlock-mir-razas-digital-footprint\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigators seek NCCIA help to unlock Mir Raza&#8217;s digital footprint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KARACHI<\/strong>: Investigators probing the murder case of young businessman Mir Raza Ali have sought the technical expertise of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to unlock the deceased\u2019s digital footprint, it emerged on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>IBA graduate and owner of the eatery Wafflix Mir Raza had gone missing on July 28 and his bullet-riddled body was\u00a0found\u00a0a day later in bushes near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.<\/p>\n<p>A seven-member team, headed by DIG Amir Farooqui, is currently investigating the case.<\/p>\n<p>Sources said they are trying to retrieve Raza\u2019s \u201cdigital records \/ WhatsApp account details\u201d through the NCCIA to determine whether there is anything suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>They believe that unlocking his digital footprint could help untangle the case.<\/p>\n<p>The sources said that the investigation team also recorded the statement of the online cab driver who dropped Mir Raza in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on July 28.<\/p>\n<p>Abad expresses concern over Raza\u2019s murder, extortion threats Also on Wednesday, the Association of Builders and Developers (Abad) hosted Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho at their office.<\/p>\n<p>Abad chairman Muhammad Hasan Bakhshi said that the investigation into the Mir Raza case was undermining citizens\u2019 confidence in state institutions. He said that his parents should be provided justice.<\/p>\n<p>Bakhshi said that builders were receiving calls from numbers based in Uzbekistan and other countries and the extortionists were threatening to carry out bomb attacks on builders\u2019 projects.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that the police would not rest until the elements involved in the Raza murder case were exposed.<\/p>\n<p>He said builders were among the groups most affected by extortion rackets and that the police would play their role in addressing their complaints and ensuring their protection.<\/p>\n<p>He said action has been taken not only against those criminals whose names were provided by ABAD, but also against other extortionists.<\/p>\n<p>The IGP further said that red notices had already been issued for extortionists operating from abroad. \u201cThe paperwork is lengthy, but the police have already done the necessary work in this regard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the crime rate in Karachi has declined by 14 per cent, while incidents of murder and violence across Sindh have decreased by 70pc.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, at a press conference, Ashraf Qureshi of Tehreek-i-Bahali Karachi demanded that a joint investigation team probe Raza\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Investigators probing the murder case of young businessman Mir Raza Ali have sought the technical expertise of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to unlock the deceased\u2019s digital footprint, it emerged on Wednesday.
