{"id":2580,"date":"2026-08-12T16:25:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T16:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/?p=2580"},"modified":"2026-08-12T16:25:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T16:25:08","slug":"18-terrorists-killed-in-balochistans-surab-district-ispr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomag.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/08\/12\/18-terrorists-killed-in-balochistans-surab-district-ispr\/","title":{"rendered":"18 terrorists killed in Balochistan&#8217;s Surab district: ISPR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RAWALPINDI<\/strong>: At least 18 terrorists were killed in Balochistan\u2019s Surab district, including eight in a premature detonation, the military\u2019s media wing said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said eight terrorists were killed when an \u201cunder preparation\u201d vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn under preparation vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) detonated while being prepared by terrorists affiliated with\u00a0<em>Fitna Al Hindustan<\/em>\u00a0in Surab district of Balochistan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The state has\u00a0designated\u00a0Balochistan-based terrorist groups as\u00a0<em>Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0highlight India\u2019s alleged role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The military\u2019s media wing added that multiple terrorists were also injured in the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>However, the blast also killed three civilians in the area after a \u201csecondary detonation of other explosives stored there\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Following the explosion, a contingent of security forces and police reached the incident site and \u201claunched a comprehensive joint clearance operation to track down the perpetrators and facilitators\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Elaborating further, the military said security forces \u201cproactively detected the movement of fleeing terrorists, effectively engaging and neutralising ten more\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn total, 18 terrorists affiliated with\u00a0<em>Fitna Al Hindustan<\/em>\u00a0have been eliminated in these incidents so far,\u201d said the ISPR, adding that during the exchange of fire, two soldiers were injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSanitisation operations continue in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe relentless counter-terrorism campaign under vision \u2018Azm e Istehkam\u2019 (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,\u201d concluded the ISPR.<\/p>\n<p>Security forces\u00a0killed 15 terrorists\u00a0in multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in several areas of Balochistan, state media reported last week.<\/p>\n<p>State-run\u00a0<em>Pakistan TV<\/em>, citing sources, reported that the IBOs were carried out in Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai, and Nushki under Operation Raddul Fitna 3, adding that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe operations severely damaged the\u00a0<em>khawarij<\/em>\u00a0network and restricted their movement,\u201d\u00a0<em>Pakistan TV<\/em>\u00a0said.\u00a0<em>Khawarij<\/em>\u00a0is a term the state uses for terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies\u2019 (PICSS) monthly security\u00a0assessment\u00a0released on July 31, the security situation deteriorated most significantly in Balochistan in the country last month.<\/p>\n<p>The overall death toll increased by 241pc in Balochistan, from 109 in June to 372 in July, the report said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: At least 18 terrorists were killed in Balochistan\u2019s Surab district, including eight in a premature detonation, the military\u2019s media wing said on Wednesday.
