The prime minister provided guidance related to the visit,&#8221; said a statement from the Prime Minister&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The interior minister also briefed the prime minister on his important engagements held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation conference in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They further reviewed in detail the prevailing security environment in the country and measures being taken to maintain peace and stability, along with the overall law and order situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naqvi briefed the prime minister on the steps being implemented to ensure law and order and safeguard citizens across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of close coordination among all relevant institutions and called for a unified strategy to further strengthen law and order and enhance national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prime minister reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to maintaining peace, protecting citizens and ensuring effective cooperation among all security and law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pakistani sources earlier told Anadolu that Naqvi was set to meet top Iranian officials to discuss &#8220;some new proposals&#8221; to reach a temporary deal between Tehran and Washington to break the ongoing deadlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He would also discuss reviving a second round of talks between the parties to end the conflict, they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran&#8217;s semi-official news agency Mehr also reported that Naqvi would pay a visit to the country to hold talks amid Islamabad&#8217;s ongoing mediation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit comes as Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni, met on Friday in Bishkek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naqvi has been directly involved in negotiations with Tehran as Pakistan is mediating a possible agreement between the US and Iran to permanently end the war, which began on February 28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave guidance to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday ahead of the latter&#8217;s upcoming visit to Iran as Pakistan&#8217;s diplomatic efforts to achieve peace between Tehran and Washington continue.
